Mike Whittingham joins as VP of sales

Flusso has announced the appointment of Mike Whittingham as its new VP of sales. In his new role, Mike will lead the company’s global sales and marketing activities as it continues rolling out its ambitious growth plans announced earlier this year.

In April, Flusso confirmed a major expansion of its Cambridge-based technical team and its intention to lease additional office and laboratory space to accommodate its increased new product development activities. The company’s sensor R&D team is already more than double the size it was when Flusso was acquired in August 2022.

Mike is highly respected within the global electronics industry for his track record and commitment in building long-term customer partnerships and driving global sales growth. His extensive experience and approach will be invaluable as Flusso continues expanding its portfolio of flow and gas sensor products and ramping up sales. We’re delighted to have Mike on board as we advance into this next phase of our commercial development.

Andrea De Luca, CEO at Flusso

Mike will succeed Thomas Negre who joined Flusso in 2020 to establish the company’s product sales and marketing operation, following the launch of the FLS110 as the world’s smallest air flow sensor. Thomas is leaving to pursue new opportunities in private equity.

Mike brings over 30 years’ experience in building successful sales and marketing programmes for electronics companies across Europe, US and Asia. He has previously worked for startups and global industry leaders across enterprise software, mobile phone and semiconductor industries, and most notably with major semiconductor companies such as Mitsubishi Electric, Sharp Microelectronics and Samsung Semiconductor.

His career achievements include:

  • being a key contributor in growing Samsung Semiconductor’s System LSI business in Europe and globally;
  • building a global ecosystem program at mobile software company Symbian prior to its acquisition by Nokia; and
  • building significant global business at Canonical and Cambridge start-up Undo Software as VP Sales.

In addition to his commercial positions, Mike has been an advisor to Carbon13, an organisation dedicated to supporting early-stage businesses focused on reducing carbon emissions on a global scale.

He is also a non-executive director at Eastern Colleges Group, delivering academic and vocational qualifications across the East of England.
