Flusso wins #21toWatch Eastern region business award
11/03/21
Flusso has been named as one of seven winners in the companies category for this year’s Cofinitive #21toWatch Top21 business awards.
The annual awards, which were started in 2017, are designed to recognise seven of the most inspiring and innovative people, companies and ground-breaking ‘things’ from across Cambridge and the wider East of England region. This year the organisers received over 250 qualified submissions across all categories and from a range of sectors including life sciences, AI, agri-tech, water and energy sustainability.
Flusso was selected as a winner on the strength and experience of its team, and for the on-going involvement of serial entrepreneur Professor Florin Udrea, who co-founded the company with its CEO Dr Andrea De Luca in 2016. The judging panel also specifically noted Flusso’s success in completing a heavily over-subscribed US $5.7 million Series A funding round in June 2020, when the UK and many other countries were in full lockdown.
We are delighted to be named in Cofinitive’s Top21.2021 #21toWatch list and to have the company’s progress and achievements to date so strongly endorsed. When lockdown and travel restrictions ease, one of the first things we plan to do is to bring our growing global team together to celebrate this award and several other major achievements from the last year.
Dr Andrea De Luca, CEO at Flusso.
The award was presented to Andrea earlier this month in a virtual ceremony, which featured Jamie Urquhart – co-founder of ARM and one of Cambridge’s most famous technology companies – giving his insights to becoming a successful entrepreneur.
