  • Andrea de luca

    Dr Andrea De Luca

    CEO and co-founder

    Andrea co-founded Flusso as a spin-out from University of Cambridge in 2016 to commercialise some breakthroughs in MEMS sensor research that have led to the development of the world’s smallest flow sensor. As CEO, he has been leading the industrialisation of the company’s products ever since. Andrea has a PhD in sensors from University of Cambridge, has written over 70 publications and holds 16 patents covering Flusso and other sensing technologies.

    Prof. Florin Udrea

    CTO and co-founder

    Florin is Professor of Semiconductor Engineering at University of Cambridge with over 20 years’ experience in power devices, high voltage and smart technologies, micro-sensors and MEMS. He has founded five companies, commercialised his research, and collaborated with leading industrial companies to help develop products based on his research. He holds 150 patents, has received multiple industry awards, and was appointed a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2015.

  • Anna Schulenburg

    Dr Anna Schulenburg

    Business development director

    Anna joined Flusso in 2019 to lead the company’s growing business development, global sales and customer support activities. She has extensive experience in sales and product management of flow sensors at Sensirion. She has worked in many start-ups bringing new products to market, most recently at TransferWise. Anna has a PhD in spectroscopy from ETH Zurich, and a masters in chemistry from University of Oxford.

  • Nigel heather

    Nigel Heather

    VP Engineering

    Nigel has over 30 years’ experience developing semiconductors, MEMS, software and digital radio products. In senior management roles, he delivered gas sensors at ams Sensors UK; inkjet technology at Xaar; power ICs at Cambridge Semiconductor and RFICs at SiGe Semiconductor. Before that he was operations director at consultancy Symbionics and designed custom IC’s at GEC Research. He has a degree in computing science from Imperial College, London.

  • Cerdin lee

    Cerdin Lee

    Operations manager

    Cerdin is responsible for managing Flusso’s supply chain and has over 20 years’ manufacturing and technical experience within the industry. Before joining Flusso, she was foundry manager with industrial inkjet company Xaar, in MEMS development. She has also spent 12 years with Cambridge Semiconductor, initially in device development before then taking charge of its operations. She has an MPhil in power electronics engineering from University of Cambridge.

  • Valerie jolliffe

    Valerie Jolliffe

    Head of finance

    Valerie joined Flusso to help manage the most recent funding round, and now provides advice and support in financial planning, governance and legal issues. She is a former VC and has extensive experience of investments, specialising in early-stage, high-tech companies and university spin-outs. She previously held a similar role with spin-out company Spectral Edge Limited, which successfully exited in 2019.

    Debbie Smith

    HR and office manager

    Debbie joined Flusso in early 2020 to take charge of its office management activities. She has considerable experience, having worked across different industry sectors and from start-ups through to multi-site operations. Debbie spent almost 13 years in office and facilities management with Xaar, and prior to that held a similar role with Johnson Controls, the multinational buildings controls company.

    Dr Robert Swann

    Chairman

    Robert is an experienced entrepreneur and business angel specialising in early-stage technology companies. He co-founded mobile multimedia processor company Alphamosaic, acquired by Broadcom in 2004. He has also been chairman or held other board-level positions with companies including Cambridge CMOS Sensors (acquired by AMS, 2016); Movidius (acquired by Intel, 2016); Green Parrot Pictures (acquired by Google, 2011) and Spectral Edge (acquired by Apple, 2019).

    Dr Cleo Cabuz

    Director

    Cleo was VP of technology and partnerships for Honeywell’s $6bn Safety and Productivity Solutions division until her retirement in 2018. And before that, she was CTO at Honeywell Life Safety, the world’s largest provider of sensors and systems for fire protection and gas detection. Cleo has exceptional knowledge of sensor technologies and their applications, and a huge network of industry contacts. She has a PhD in microsensors from Tohoku University, Japan.

    John Pearson

    Director

    John joined Parkwalk Advisors as an investment director in 2018. His previous roles within the sector have included being a partner at Adelphi Capital LLP, and head of global capital goods equity research at Merrill Lynch. John has a double first in engineering from St John’s College, Cambridge and an MBA with distinction from INSEAD. In addition to Flusso, he is on the board of Lumenisity, Bodle Technologies, CGD, and SMG.

  • Malcolm grimshaw

    Dr Malcolm Grimshaw

    Director

    Malcolm is head of the Physical Sciences team at Cambridge Enterprise, and has been instrumental in the formation of Cambridge Photon Technology and ROADMap, as well as licencing multiple technologies. Before joining Cambridge Enterprise in 2002, Malcolm spent 18 years in the cryogenic and vacuum instrumentation industries, initially as an engineer before moving into sales, marketing and new product development. He has a PhD in physics from University of Nottingham.

  • Nick Mettyear

    Nick Mettyear

    Director

    Nick is an investment manager at Foresight Group. He joined two years ago and is a non-executive director at Oxford Space Systems and at Biotherapy Services. He is on the delivery board of Cambridge Norwich Tech Corridor. Nick’s industry career includes five years in financial services working as a management consultant. He has an MBA from London Business School and an MA from the University of Cambridge.
