Management Team
Dr Andrea De Luca
CEO and co-founder
Andrea co-founded Flusso as a spin-out from University of Cambridge in 2016 to commercialise some breakthroughs in MEMS sensor research that have led to the development of the world’s smallest flow sensor.
As CEO, he has been leading the industrialisation of the company’s products ever since. Andrea has a PhD in sensors from University of Cambridge, has written over 70 publications and holds 16 patents covering Flusso and other sensing technologies.
Prof. Florin Udrea
CTO and co-founder
Florin is Professor of Semiconductor Engineering at University of Cambridge with over 20 years’ experience in power devices, high voltage and smart technologies, micro-sensors and MEMS.
He has founded five companies, commercialised his research, and collaborated with leading industrial companies to help develop products based on his research. He holds 150 patents, has received multiple industry awards, and was appointed a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2015.
Mike Whittingham
VP Sales
Mike joined Flusso in September 2023 to lead the company’s global sales and marketing activities as it advances into its next phase of commercial development. He brings over 30 years’ experience in building long-term customer partnerships and driving sales growth within the electronics sector.
His previous positions have included VP global sales at enterprise software company Undo, and senior-level sales management roles with Samsung Semiconductor, Sharp Electronics and Mitsubishi Electric.
Nigel Heather
VP Engineering
Nigel has over 30 years’ experience developing semiconductors, MEMS, software and digital radio products. In senior management roles, he delivered gas sensors at ams Sensors UK; inkjet technology at Xaar; power ICs at Cambridge Semiconductor and RFICs at SiGe Semiconductor.
Before that he was operations director at consultancy Symbionics and designed custom IC’s at GEC Research. He has a degree in computing science from Imperial College, London.
Cerdin Lee
Operations Director
Cerdin is responsible for managing Flusso’s supply chain and has over 20 years’ manufacturing and technical experience within the industry. Before joining Flusso, she was foundry manager with industrial inkjet company Xaar, in MEMS development.
She has also spent 12 years with Cambridge Semiconductor, initially in device development before then taking charge of its operations. She has an MPhil in power electronics engineering from University of Cambridge.
Debbie Smith
HR and Office Manager
Debbie joined Flusso in early 2020 to take charge of its office management activities. She has considerable experience, having worked across different industry sectors and from start-ups through to multi-site operations.
Debbie spent almost 13 years in office and facilities management with Xaar, and prior to that held a similar role with Johnson Controls, the multinational buildings controls company.
